Ingredients:
2 cans x 155g SABA Sardines in Tomato Sauce
450g Spaghetti, cooked according to package instructions
2 Tbsp. Cooking Oil
3 cloves Garlic, minced
1 pc Onion, finely chopped
1pc Red Bell Pepper, finely chopped
1 pack x 70g Tomato Paste
1 can x 390g F&N Condensada – Sweetened Condensed Creamer
2 cups Water
3 Tbsp Cornstarch, dissolved in ¼ cup water
½ cup Cheese, grated
2 tsp Salt
1 tsp Ground black pepper
Grated Cheese (for toppings)
Procedure:
1. Open the two cans of SABA Sardines with Tomato Sauce. Separate the sardines and the tomato sauce in individual bowls. Set aside.
2. In a pan on medium heat, warm the oil. Add garlic, onion and bell pepper. Sauté for 2-3 minutes until bell peppers are soft.
3. Add tomato paste and continue to cook for another minute. Pour the reserved tomato sauce, F&N Condensada, water, cornstarch mixture and grated cheese. Stir and bring to a gentle simmer.
4. Cook with occasional stirring for another 10 minutes. Add the sardines and season with salt and pepper. Simmer until heated through. You may break the sardines into smaller pieces in this step.
5 Add pasta into the pan and mix well with the sauce before turning off the heat.
6. Transfer to a serving dish and garnish with grated cheese. Serve.
