Calamares Al Ajillo (Garlic Squid)
Don’t you just love the aroma of freshly-cooked calamares in your favorite restaurant or that being sold in the busy bustling streets? Now you don’t ever have to daydream about munching on this chewy and crispy treat for you can cook it at the comfort of your own home! Follow this quick recipe, which makes up to 3 servings, and you got yourself a tasty snack that you can’t stop chomping on!
Ingredients:
1 can x 425g SABA Squid in Soy Sauce
3 Tbsp Annatto oil
8 cloves Garlic, finely chopped
3 pcs Green chili peppers, sliced diagonally
2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
Juice from one lemon
1 tsp Hot sauce
1/8 tsp Spanish paprika
1/8 tsp Salt (optional)
1/8 tsp Ground black pepper
Procedure:
1. Open the can of SABA Squid in Soy Sauce. Drain. Slice the squid in 1 cm thickness or according to desired thickness. Set aside.
2. Heat annatto oil at medium heat and sauté garlic until brown.
3. Add squid and green chili peppers. Sauté for 1-2 minutes, then add Worcestershire sauce, lemon juice, hot sauce, Spanish paprika, salt and black pepper. Cook until heated through.
4. Serve while hot.
